Two Baskets and a Back Story

This month I was rather excited to have been asked by Lazy Daisy Jones to be a guest on her fabulous blog for her February Back Story and felt very privileged to be featured amongst some of my favourite instagrammers and crafters; Annaboos House, Kath Webber, Jelly Jam Ellie and Made by Swimmer. You can view it here at www.lazydaisyjones.com (I kept it brief in my usual style)

I have also been busy making baskets to store some of my yarn and crochet projects. I picked up some amazing denim blue Jersey be Good t-shirt yarn by Wool and the Gang, on a visit to the Knitting and Stitching show at Alexandra Palace a over a year ago and had been waiting for the right design to come to mind. I thought I'd share the pattern with you here.

Two baskets

You will need:
12mm crochet hook (or the size appropriate for your yarn/tension)
One cone of t-shirt yarn for the basket with handles (I used Jersey be Good for both baskets)
Two cones for the basket with contrast trim (or one cone and some left over from a previous project)
The thickness of the yarn may vary. In this situation the denim blue yarn was slightly thinner than the grey. You can work more or less rounds on the base and sides to your own preference.

Abbreviations: (UK terms)
ch - chain,
sl st - slip stitch,
dc - double crochet,
st(s) - stitch(es)
