Me, my blog and a snowflake pattern

Hi there, welcome to my blog and my very first post. I've been thinking about this for a while....a place to share my crochet and some of my ideas and inspirations. You can normally find me on Instagram as I tend to prefer pictures to words, but I've persuaded myself to give blogging a go. I started sharing my makes on Instagram about three years ago and some of you seemed to like them, so I thought maybe I ain't so bad at this crochet thing. I wrote a few patterns and even had a few of my designs published. Here on my blog I hope to inspire a few more of you to crochet. I love it and I hope you will too!

Now for that snowflake pattern.....

Simple Snowflake

For the large snowflake I used t-shirt yarn and a 15mm hook, but you can use any yarn and hook to suit.

Abbreviations: (UK terms)
ch - chain
dc - double crochet
st - stitch
sl st - slip stitch

Ch 2 to start or magic loop.

Round 1: 6 dc in second ch from hook or magic loop, join with a sl st to first dc.

Round 2: Ch 1, * dc in first st, ch 4, sl st in second ch from hook, (ch 2, sl st in second ch from hook) twice, sl st in each of remaining 2 ch, dc in same st as first dc, repeat from * till six points made, join with a sl st to first dc.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

I hope you enjoy this simple snowflake pattern. The snowflakes can be used in various ways; hang them in the window, on the Christmas tree or use them to decorate cards or presents. Feel free to tag me on Instagram with any of your makes.

Thanks

Flo and Dot
